What started as a truly strange day, truly turned into a great day.
Have you ever had one of those days when it looks like nothing is going to go right? That’s what this morning seemed like it was going to be. Woke up in Adelaide, at the Grovenor Hotel, opposite the Convention Centre on North Tce. Plan A ; We decided that
pancakes at the Pancake Kitchen was what was required so we marched up to Gilbert place where the Original Pancake kitchen is and found ourselves a table, sat down and waited, and waited, then waited a bit more…when we were not even acknowledged after 15 minutes we decided that time was wasting and we split for some express hotcakes at McDonalds…Plan B; Seems Maccas in Hindley St were clean out of Hotcakes. Plan C…as we were going to head up Rundle Mall to Rundle St we figured that we might get Pancakes at the McDonalds in the Myer Centre food court. This was a good plan…as they had Hotcakes…but no Frappes…seems the Frappe machine was undegoing a maintenance cleaning cycle…what’s a family got to do to get what you want?
Anyway…after finally getting breakfast we decided it was too late for shopping and we needed to hit the road…
Destination…The Barossa Valley.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Barossa, Tasting a little Vino, eating a Bienenstich “bee sting” cake for morning tea. Having a Kranski for Lunch and tasting a variety of flavours at the Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop.
After that we took the road less travelled to Burra along some unsurfaced back road that took us past some wind farms. Like usual here is a gallery of pics from the day.
