The wooden bridge is found at the end of a north west arm of Lake Lucerne and is known locally as the Kappelbruke or Chapel bridge. It is beautifully adorned with baskets of flowers all along it’s length and it spans what can only be described as ‘crystal clear waters’ of the Reiss river.
We wandered the shopping area to the north of the river which is car free and pedestrian friendly where bought some Swiss chocolate, some shorts for Amanda and I managed to get a new outspread Jacket from a store called Jack Wolfskin, like Katmandu stores in Australia.
Earlier in the day we visited Lauterbrunnen. It was wet and thundery and where I discovered that my old parka really had had it and was no longer waterproof. We had a delicious lunch of pies and soup, enjoyed the numerous waterfalls and then headed for Lucern where as I mentioned earlier I replaced my wet weather jacket.
