Destination in sight

Posted by on 16 December, 2011

After a restful night in Tooleybuc at a comfortable and economical Motel (see Joys post for details) we set off for Goolwa, South Australia.

The Murray was not as full as I expected at this point and seemed to have less water than this same location last year.

The lands between Murray near Tooleybuc and the Murray at Tailem Bend ( The Mallee lands) whilst having signs of rain appeared still quite arid, however, this could be the result of the cutting of wheat leaving the paddocks with the look of dryness.

There was more grain silos and grain stored in huge mounds than I have ever seen before on this road so I hope that the farmers have had a great season for the end of 2011 and the start of 2012. Ouyen and Pinaroo are two of the major towns along the route.

Heres a few pictures that I took along the way, not many though as I wanted to drive most of this leg and let Joy have a good look around.
