The family that sews together

Posted by on 5 January, 2013

For as long as I can remember my Mum has enjoyed sewing. Even though it has also always been a part of her job it is still an activity that she likes to do at home…and especially when it is making something for someone who she loves.

So this afternoon it was so great to have her come over and help Amanda and I make aprons for Amanda’s birthday party next weekend.

I won’t give away too much,  but there will be some kitchen activity going on, so we thought aprons would make nice ‘thank you’ gifts for her friends.

Watching Mum teaching Amanda to use the overlocker reminded me of when I was young and learning to sew. Amanda did so well and kept going all afternoon.

It was a lovely time and we will now be able to get them finished off tomorrow.

While we did our sewing,  Dave got to ‘play’ with our neighbour… with his new toy! Win win for everyone!
