Even though Jesus is “the reason for the season”… Christmas..
other than presents it is about family and food!
When I was growing up, some years lunch could be for up to 50 family members, however as we have all grown up and have our own families now many of us alternate years with each side of the family. This year our Christmas lunch included Mum, Dad and us. Eight is a great number to have for lunch, as everyone can sit around the table!
My morning was spent in the kitchen preparing lunch and at about 11am we went to my Mum and Dad’s house. They don’t live far away so it is a quick trip. Lunch was a very leisurely affaiir, starting around 12noon and carrying on for the rest of the afternoon between other activities…dessert was served around at around 4pm.
Other than eat, we also played darts and balderdash and relaxed
So very tired now….but it was a very enjoyable day!
