I’m really looking forward to going to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat. I know a little about it and the history of how it has come to be what it is today, though I am really looking forward to learning more from those that know all there is to know.
Today though, my focus was on another temple that has also suffered from neglect…mine…as the saying goes ‘my body is my temple! ‘
It’s not that I don’t clean it (I do)…but every now and again it is time for a bit more attention to detail.
As this weekend is a long weekend…and the last weekend of the holiday season (school starts back this week), it was a good opportunity to take some time to pamper myself.
Soak, scrub, shave, shampoo, pluck, clip, file, moisturise, push, paint and brush….it’s quite exhausting when you think about it…but feels great!
So once I felt very clean and fresh…it was time to pay attention to the inner sanctum…I am aware that lately I haven’t been getting enough sleep. I’ve been getting up earlier to do some exercise which is great…but I haven’t been going to bed earlier to compensate…so I have been waking up tired. It can be hard to remember to go to bed…so David suggested I set myself a ‘time for bed’ alarm. It is now in my phone set for 9pm.
So I am now in bed…having just read the first chapter of my new book ‘Run Fat B!tch Run’ and am feeling very inspired to get started in the morning! I have learned what I probably already knew…that my previous efforts of going for a run were not enough to really make a difference and if I am going to be serious about getting my temple in order I am going to have to try much harder…
Mind, Body and Soul…well I think I have touched a little of each today!
